| | | | | | | 8th Grade Basketball wins at Hardwood!!! | | | | | | by Jean Gelpi posted 01/23/2012 The Red 8th grade basketball team won their division bracket last weekend. Three 8th grade Wildcats teams participated. All 3 teams played with reduced rosters because of players beeing sick one day prior to the tournament. Coach Gelpi says " all the teams played very hard defense and the players were very tired at the end of the tournament". "I'm very proud of the overall improvement the players are showing specially defensively". The Red team won their bracket by displaying great man to man defense through the entire final game and only 7 players on the roster. "The goal this season, is to prepare these players for high school basketball" "After this weekend, I think the group got one step closer to that goal" Coach Gelpi also mentioned.
Congratulations to Kevin, Stephan, Cole, Ryan, Glen, Jeff, and Phoenix. Thank you to Coaches Kurt Austin, Dustin Aubert, and Jean Gelpi.
Way to go Wildctas!!!!!

Effective September 1, we have a new Director of Operations, Karen Ward. She will be taking over my duties and we are lucky to have her!
Karen has lived in Davis for over 30 years, and while she's not a basketball mom, her three kids have always been active in numerous sports thoughout the years. Her background is in bookkeeping, taxes and office management. She is really looking forward to helping out Davis Hoops and getting to know all of you.
Karen's email is
and her cell is 530-219-8873.
I (Carol) have loved being involved with the Wildcats for the past six years (nine as a parent of a player!) and will continue my association with the club as the Community Service Coordinator. I will miss working with all of the wonderful Wildcat coaches and parents, but I'm excited to finally go back to school for my master's degree!
Go 'Cats!!
Carol
